Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), Madras has announced the exam dates for Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM-2016), which will be conducted in February 2016. The JAM online exam will be held on Sunday, February 07, 2016.
JAM is conducted for taking admission to 2 years Master of Science (M.Sc), joint M.Sc-Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), M.Sc-Ph.D dual degree M.Sc-Master of Technology (M.Tech), M.Sc-MS (by research), other post-bachelor’s degree and Ph.D dual degree programs at the IITs
in Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi,Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad,Indore, Kanpur, Jodhpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee and Ropar and  integrated Ph.D programs at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and to consolidate Science as a career option for bright students from across the country for the academic session 2016. However, JAM score may also be used by other Institutions for admission to their programs.
·         Candidates should have at least 55% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for general, OBC (NCL) Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC, ST and PwD Category candidates in the qualifying degree.
·         For candidates with grades in letter, CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s).
·         Candidates can apply for JAM 2016 ONLINE only through JOAPS (JAM online Application Processing System).Please click Browser Settings and read the details given below before starting the online application process.
·         The candidates can do most of their interactions with JAM through the JOAPS interface provided at JAM 2016 website. Through JOAPS, a candidate can register and apply for JAM 2016, check the status of the application, download of admit card, know the result and download of score card, etc.
·         Once a candidate registers at JOAPS he, she will get the Enrolment ID and would be able to set the password. At the time of registration as a new user a candidate will be asked to fill in his name, e-mail address, mobile number and a password. once submission is done the JOAPS site would send the Enrolment ID to his, her mobile as a SMS. This Enrolment ID and given password should be used for further log in.
·         Before registering and logging in to JOAPS, a candidate is advised to keep the following information, documents ready:
·         Personal information (name, E-mail address, mobile number, date of birth, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.).
·         Address for communication (including PIN code).
·         Eligibility degree details (Name of the degree, percentage of marks, CGPA, college information).
·         JAM test paper(s) for which a candidate wishes to appear.
·         Three choices of JAM examination cities. A candidate can choose the first two choice from a zone. The third choice is meant as All India Choice, that is,any center in the list. However it may also be choosen from the same zone as choosen for choices 1 and 2.A list is available at the JAM site http:,,jam.iitm.ac.in,jam2016
·         Good quality image (in .jpeg format) of the candidate's photograph conforming to the requirements specified in Photograph Requirements on pages 8-10 of the JAM 2016 Information Brochure available at JAM site. see also page 2 & 3 below
·         Good quality image (in .jpeg format) of the candidate's signature conforming to the requirements specified in Signature Specifications on page 11 of the JAM 2016 Information Brochure. see also page 2 and 3 below.
·         Scanned copy of SC, ST, PwD Certificates in pdf format only (if applicable)
·         Details of a valid ID Proof the candidate carry to the examination hall (any one of the following: Aadhar ID, College ID, Driving License, Employee ID, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID)
·         Netbanking login and password to make the application fee payment via online net banking mode. In case the payment is to be made through debit card, credit card, then have the following information like debit card, credit card number, password, CVV number ready with you.
·         A candidate who wish to apply for JAM 2016 examination must first register on the JOAPS website, by providing his, her name, a valid E-mail address, a working mobile number and a password. Please note that Name of the Candidate, Email Address and Mobile Number (10 digits) cannot be changed in the later stage, hence they MUST BE carefully verified and confirmed before submission.
·         The candidate must give the name as it appears in the certificates.
·         The candidate must give an e-mail address that he, she uses and checks frequently, as all communications to the candidate from JAM 2016 will be sent to this e-mail address.The candidate must not use somebody else's e-mail address and only one candidate can be registered with one E-mail address.
·         The candidate should provide his, her personal mobile number because most of the communications may also be sent via SMS.
·         The password that the candidate provides should be chosen so that it cannot be guessed easily by others and this JOAPS password must not be forgotten by the candidate as he, she will require it to login to the JOAPS website.
·         Upon successful registration, an e-mail containing your JOAPS enrolment ID will be sent to the e-mail address provided by the candidate. The enrolment ID will also be sent to the mobile number provided by the candidate. The candidate needs to use this JOAPS enrolment ID along with the JOAPS password for all JAM 2016 related communications or website operations.
·         Upon logging in to the JOAPS website, the candidate needs to fill in information, such as the number and choice of test paper(s) that he, she wishes to appear, city choices, date of birth, gender, parent, guardian's name and mobile number, nationality, category, PwD (Person with disability) status, address for communication, details of valid personal ID information, information on qualifying degree, percentage of marks, CGPA, status of graduation, college information, etc.
·         After filling in the required information, the candidate has to upload the image files (in .jpeg format) of photograph and signature. A scanned copy of SC,ST and, or PwD certificates (in.pdf format) are also to be uploaded, if applicable. The JOAPS website allows saving a partially filled application form, logging out and resuming filling up the application by logging in again.
·         The candidate should check for the correctness of the entered information and uploaded documents. If not satisfied, he, she can correct the entries and upload the files again. After ensuring that there is no error in the application form and all the relevant and valid documents are uploaded, the candidate must carefully read the declaration and accept the declaration before submitting the application. A candidate will be able to download the whole application including his photograph, signature and scanned copies of the documents in a .pdf format. once he, she ascertains the correctness the application is ready for submission. Once the candidate submits his, her application, then no further changes can be made to the applicationAfter the application form is submitted, the candidate can then also view the submitted details and download the duly filled application form.
·         Any application which is incomplete in any respect and does not have the required valid documents will be summarily rejected. The candidates must take care to fill in the details in the application form correctly and must upload the correct and valid documents, including signatures and photographs.

KARNATAKA STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST (KSET) FOR LECTURER, ASSISTANT PROFESSORS 2015

University of Mysore (UoM), Mysore has announced the exam dates for Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET–2015), which will be conducted in December 2015. The KSET will be held on Sunday, December 06, 2015.
KSET is conducted for determining the eligibility for the lecturers, assistant professors of concerned universities, colleges, institutions (government, aided, private) of Karnataka state.
1.     Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks (without rounding off) for general category and 50% for Schedule Category (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons With Disability (PWD-VH,PH), Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB candidates, in master’s degree OR equivalent examination from universities , institutions recognized by UGC New Delhi, in subjects like Science, Humanities (including languages), Social science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic science etc., are eligible to appear for this test.
2.     Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the Master’s degree examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also appear for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and if they become eligible in the KSET examination, their eligibility certificate will be issued only on production of proof for having passed the Master’s degree or equivalent examination securing at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC, ST, PWD (VH,PH), Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB candidates) within two years from the date of KSET examination, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
3.     The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s degree completed on or before 19th September 1991 (irrespective of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks for appearing in KSET examination.
4.     Candidates shall appear for KSET examination in their relevant subject of their postgraduation only, in case the candidate did not find the subject of his post graduation in the list of KSET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET , UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year.
5.     Candidates other than general category are required to mention their social status (Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, SC, ST, PWD (VH,PH)) in the online application form. Candidates may note that they should satisfy the eligibility conditions with reference to the documents such as PG degree marks cards & certificates, category certificates and certificates related to PWD (VH,PH) enclosed with their application. The category certificates submitted by the candidates must be issued by the competent authority and the issue date of such certificate should be not earlier to 1st July 2014. In case their ineligibility is detected due to invalid certificate by the KSET agency at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.
6.     Candidates should note that their candidature is provisional. The mere fact that admission to the examination will not imply that the KSET center has finally accepted his, her candidature. Candidates may note that candidature will be deemed final only upon fulfilling of eligibility conditions.
AGE: There is no upper age limit to apply for KSET examination.
1.     Candidates seeking admission to KSET 2015 examination must apply online website or through link available with the University of Mysore website.
2.     Before proceeding to apply Candidates must possess a scanned passport size photo in JPEG format (4.5cm x 3.5cm) memory should not exceed 300 k. bytes.
3.     Candidates should register (sign up for registration) giving personal and educational details. Candidates while mentioning their educational qualification they should select either as Passed or appearing as the case may be.
(Note: Candidate should note down and remember their email ID and password till the announcement of final results of KSET 2015 examination).
4.     Candidates are required to download the bank challan proforma prefilled with candidate details, Email id, and Fee and bank commission. Payments towards KSET examination fee including bank charges must be deposited to KSET accounts in any of the nearest State Bank of Mysore branch only after two working days from the date of downloading bank challan.
5.     After paying the necessary fee again after two days, candidates have to login with their registered email ID and password for downloading the application form and can take the printout of the 3 sheets of application form (hard copy) in A-4 size paper as detailed below;
a.     Application form: to be submitted to the Nodal center chosen by the candidate
b.     Attendance slip: to be submitted to the Nodal center chosen by the candidate
c.      Admission card: to be retained by the candidate
6.     Hard copy of the application form should be submitted to the respective Nodal center along with Original Bank Challan (KSET Copy) and attested copies of:
a.     SSLC Marks Card
b.     SC, ST, PWD (VH,PH), Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB category certificates
c.      Proof of qualifying examination certificate and final PG Degree Marks Card. (For those who apply under appearing may submit the same after passing the qualifying examination).
Affix his, her pass port size photo at the place indicated on the hard copy of application form and must sign across the photograph. It should also duly be attested by the gazetted officer with seal.
7.     All candidates should compulsorily submit the hard copy of application within the last date for submission, application received after the last date for submission will not be considered.
8.     Candidates should enclose application form and all other related documents in an A4 size cover. Super scribed as [Application for KSET - 2015].
9.     Printout of admission card should be retained by the candidate and bring on the day of examination after affixing passport size photo and it should be duly attested by gazetted officer. “NO Admission card” will be issued separately either by the Nodal centers or by KSET center.

Late fee of Rs.100/- has to be paid by candidates who submit online application after the last date till the extended period.
Note: Candidates belonging to category IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, Cat-I, SC, ST, PWD (VH, PH) who claim fee exemption must enclose attested Category certificate issued by competent authority along with the hard copy of the application.
Mode of payment: The examination fee, late fee have to be paid through bank challan only. After successful registration for online application, candidates can take the printout of challan (Bank Copy, KSET Copy & candidates copy) and make the payment as detailed in the challan (i.e. Exam. Fee + bank commission of Rs.20,-) in any of the SBM branches, KSET copy of the challan has to be submitted along with the hard copy of the application form to respective Nodal center.
1.     Fee submitted by any other mode like money order, Demand draft, IPO etc., will NOT be accepted.
2.     Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has announced the exam dates for online Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2016), which will be conducted in January, February 2016. The GATE will be held from Saturday, January 30, 2016 to Sunday, February 07, 2016.
GATE is conducted annually for admissions to postgraduate programs (master’s and doctoral) in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarships, Assistantships in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, is open to those who qualify in GATE. The GATE score is also used by some PSUs for their recruitment
·         Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering, Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in Engineering, Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
·         Bachelor’s degree holders of Architecture (Five years course) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
·         Bachelor’s degree holders of Four-year program in Science (B.S.) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
·         Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs.
·         Holders of four-year integrated master’s degree (post-B.Sc.) in Engineering, Technology and those in the second or higher year of such programs.
·         Holders of five-year integrated master’s degree or dual degree in Engineering, Technology and those in the fourth or higher year of such programs.

·         Candidates can apply online from Tuesday, September 01, 2015.
·         The application fee is Rs. 750/- for women candidates, Rs. 750/- for the SC, ST, PwD category candidates and Rs. 1500/- for all others.
·         The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan (additional bank charges may apply). The application fee is non-refundable.
·         The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3-hour duration that contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks.
·         The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type questions.
·         The examination for all the papers will be carried out in an online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode where the candidates will be shown the questions in a random sequence on a computer screen.
·         The candidates are required to either select the answer (for MCQ type) or enter the answer for numerical answer type question using a mouse on a virtual keyboard (keyboard of the computer will be disabled).
·         Candidates will be provided with blank paper sheets for rough work and these have to be returned back after the examination.
·         At the end of the 3-hour window, the computer will automatically close the screen from further actions.
·         Start date for online application: Tuesday, September 01, 2015.

CEED 2016, COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR DESIGN 2016

Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur, and PhD programmes in Design at some Institutes. CEED is organized by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). The objective of CEED is to assess the candidates’ aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity and communication skills. Qualifying in CEED alone does not guarantee admission to any of the above programmes. Admitting Institutes may conduct further tests and,or interviews for the final selection, admission in addition to the weightage given to the CEED score. Admitting Institutes will also verify the eligibility, the category certificates and other documents along with the CEED score. There is no age limit to appear for CEED. Besides, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times. The CEED 2016 score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the results.
CEED 2016
(i) CEED 2016 will be conducted on Sunday, 6th December 2015, 10:00 -13:00 Hours.
(ii) The language of the question paper is English.
(iii) The examination will consist of two parts, Part A and Part B. Candidates have to attempt questions from both the parts. Part A contains objective type questions (MCQ, MSQ and NAT) and Part B consists of design and hand drawing type questions.
(iv) Part A will be conducted from 10:00 to 11:00 Hrs followed by Part B from 11:00 to 13:00 Hrs.
(v) Answers to Part A have to be given in the computer itself. Answers to Part B have to be given in the answer book provided by the invigilator. These answer books will be collected for manual correction at the end of the examination.
(vi) Part A will be used as a screening test. If N is the total number of seats available in all the participating institutes, then approximately the top 10xN candidates will be shortlisted from Part A. Part B will be evaluated only for the candidates who are shortlisted from Part A. ONLY the scores from Part B will be used for preparing the list of qualified candidates (merit list) in CEED 2016.
(vii) After the declaration of the results on 15th January 2016, CEED 2016 score cards will be available for downloading to all the qualified candidates from January 22, 2016 onwards. Hard copy of the CEED score cards will NOT be available and hence will not be sent to the qualified candidates.

NOTE: Candidates with 3 years Bachelors degree are not eligible. The candidate is responsible for proving the eligibility while applying for CEED.
CEED application form must be submitted ONLINE ONLY through the official website.

The application fee has to be paid through the payment option provided on the website while submitting the application form. Credit card, debit card and netbanking options are available and the transaction charges have to be borne by the candidates.

(iii) Scanned copy of your category certificate (.pdf file) for SC, ST or OBC categories (Appendix A and B)
(iv) Scanned copy of your PwD certificate (.pdf file) issued by an appropriate authority for PwD category (Appendix C)
(v) Scanned copy of your eligibility certificate (.pdf file); degree certificate if the course is completed or the certificate from the Principal of your college (Appendix D) if the course is not completed (Students with G.D. Art degree should also submit a certificate for the post qualification professional experience)
Please remember that the documents (i)-(v) are to be uploaded as electronic files during the application submission process. Please make sure that these files are tagged with your application number as specified in the table below. Paper copies of these documents or any other documents will not be entertained and hence should NOT be sent to the CEED office. Candidates should upload good quality colour photograph and signature. The Admit Card and the Score Card of CEED will include the photograph and signature submitted by the candidate. Submission of poor quality photograph and,or signature will lead to the rejection of CEED application. Adhere to the specifications for file naming, photograph and signature as given below:
