UPCAT-Dental 2016, Uttar Pradesh MDS Common Admission Test

Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges, Uttar Pradesh is conducting "All India Common Admission Test for admission to Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course for the year 2016 for Private Dental College Uttar Pradesh. The notification for UPCAT-Dental 2016 Uttar Pradesh MDS Common Admission Test 2016 has been announced.
The Dental Council of India runs under the aegis of Department of Health Ministry & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi
U.P. combined Admission Test for admission to BDS (1st year) in various specialties at the following member colleges:

03. Inderprastha Dental College & Hospital (Ghaziabad)
04. Institute of Dental Science (Bareilly)

06. ITS Centre for Dental Studies & Research (Ghaziabad)
07. Kanti Devi Dental College & Hospital (Mathura)
08. Kothiwal Dental College & Research Centre (Moradabad)
09. Saraswati Dental College (Lucknow)

Course Duration
The course shall be of three years duration
All the candidates for the degree of MDS are required to pursue the prescribed course for at least three academic years course as full time candidates in a BDS recognized and MDS approved, recognized Institution under the direction of the Head of the Dept., who has to be a recognized postgraduate teacher in that speciality
A candidate for admission to the MDS course must have a recognised degree of BDS awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognised Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council
Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS Course of any University in India

Candidates who possess PG Diploma recognised by the DCI with the duration of 2 years (proposed) in particular specialty is eligible for admission in MDS in the same specialty and the duration will be 2 years
Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the postgraduate training restricted to the dental college, institution to which he is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies
All candidates should appear for the Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test (UPCAT-DENTAL)
The entrance exam will comprise of an objective type exam of 180 minutes duration containing 200 questions of 200 marks. There will be 50 questions each for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany
The syllabus for entrance exam will be as per the 10+2 exam (ICSE, CBSE, UP Board or equivalent)
The question paper will be given in English only
The candidate is required to answer 200 MCQs in 3 hours. Each question shall carry equal marks
All questions will be objective type with Multiple (1, 2, 3, 4) choice of which, only one will be the appropriate response and therefore the correct choice
Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. Zero marks shall be given to no response
Answer Sheets are scanned by machine and scores computed. Accuracy in scoring is dependent on the examines marking their answer sheets properly and the completeness of their erasures when used
Therefore, accurate scoring is dependent on your strict adherence to the following procedures: Answer sheets have three parts: Part A, Part B and Part C
Part A is to be filled in with ink while Part B and Part C should be filled in with HB Pencil only
Fee Rs.8.45 lacs per year. It may be modified by the fee fixation Committee constituted under the guidelines of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India
A candidate seeking register to the Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test - UPCAT Dental is required to send his, her application on the prescribed application from only, appended in this UPCAT 2016 MDS Information Brochure. MDS Information Brochure will be available from 01st January 2016
The Application form & OMR Sheet attached in information brochure should be filled correctly in candidates own handwriting and submitted to respective college latest by 01st January 2016
Submission of Application Form: The last date of receipt of the completed UPCAT Dental Application Form is on or before 31st January 2016. The completed application form must be sent to the following address P.O. Box No. 11, Izzat Nagar Post Office, Bareilly-243122. No application form will be received in person
Date of obtaining Application Forms from Participating Colleges: 01st January 2016
Last Date for Receiving Completed Application Forms: 31st January 2016
Date of Exam at Lucknow and Delhi only: 07th February 2016
Date of Declaration of Results on Website: 16th February 2016
