Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PU-CET) 2016

Applications have been invited by Panjab University, Chandigarh for Admission to B.Pharmacy (Credit Based Semester System), B.Sc (Hons. School) at P.U. Campus and BHMS at Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Sector-26, Chandigarh through PU - CET (U.G.) Entrance Test scheduled to be conducted on 22nd May 2016 (Sunday).

All those candidates who have passed, appeared (up to the Academic Session 2015-2016) in the 10+2 Examination (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized 
Biology and English) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board, University, Council shall be eligible to appear in the PU CET (BHMS) Entrance Test 2016
The admission of candidates for the PU CET (BHMS) Entrance Test shall be provisional
Note: The candidates who have passed, appeared in 10+2 Exams of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are intelligible to appear in the PU-CET (UG) Entrance Test, as this institution has been de-recognised by Panjab University, Chandigarh
The examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, included in the booklet of recognised exams
A person who shall attain the age of 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission and has passed 10+2 exam from the recognised Board, Bodies, Councils or any other examination recognised as equivalent to 10+2 exam by the Panjab University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology after qualifying the entrance test shall be eligible to join the first class of the course
Only Indian Citizens are eligible for admission except in the NRI quota seats
Reservation of Physically Handicapped person has been provided for persons i.e. (1st preference to the candidates suffering from Locomotor disabilities of Lower Limbs between 50% - 70%, 02nd preference will be given to the candidates suffering from Locomotor Disabilities of Lower Limbs between 40% - 50%
Admission will be made under the criteria laid down by the Chandigarh Administration, Panjab University Chandigarh
B.Sc (Hons. School Semester System) in various teaching Depts.: 
Botany, Zoology: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST,BC) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
Anthropology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Physics & Electronics: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST, BC) with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics , Biology
Biochemistry, Microbiology: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST, BC) with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Biotechnology
Biotechnology, Biophysics: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST, BC) with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics , Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science
Mathematics, Mathematics & Computing: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC,ST, BC) with Mathematics as one of the subjects
B.Pharm (Credit based Semester System): 50% marks in 10+2 (45% marks in case of SC,ST,BC candidates) with English, Physics, Chemistry and one of the following subject: Biology, Biotechnology, Mathematics
BHMS 
A person who shall attain the age of 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission and has passed 10+2 examination from the recognised Board, Bodies, Councils or any other exam recognised as equivalent to 10+2 exam by the Panjab University with Physics, Chemistry & Biology after qualifying the entrance test shall be eligible to join the first year class of the course
The result of the entrance test shall, IPSO FACTO, not entitled a candidate to get admission in an institution, dept concerned where he, she intends to seek admission
It will be the total responsibility of the candidate to mark sure about his, her eligibility and fulfillment of such other conditions as may be prescribed for admission in the rules and regulations of university institute concerned merely test does not mean that he, she is eligible and his, her appearance therein will not stop or debar the university, institution concerned from satisfying itself about his, her eligibility at any subsequent state
The PU - CET (UG & BHMS) Entrance test will be held at Chandigarh only on 22nd May 2016 (Sunday).
In no case, the fee for the entrance test once paid, shall be refunded
No application form will be received
under any circumstances after the closing of the last date
The test will be conducted in the subjects of, (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry (iii) Biology (iv) Mathematics (v) Biotechnology and (vi) Computer Sciences as per date sheet
For every wrong answer, 25% i.e. ¼ marks allotted to the question will be deducted
Paper-I Physics: 60 questions, 02 marks, total 120 marks; duration 70 minutes
Paper-II Chemistry: 60 questions, 02 marks, total 120 marks; duration 70 minutes
Paper-III Biology: 60 questions, 02 marks, total 120 marks; duration 70 minutes
Paper-IV Mathematics: 60 questions, 02 marks, total 120 marks; duration 70 minutes
Paper-V Biotechnology: 60 questions, 02 marks, total 120 marks; duration 70 minutes
Paper-I Computer Sci.: 60 questions, 02 marks, total 120 marks; duration 70 minutes
The syllabi is as per the CBSE for the session 2013-15
The candidate will be required to choose a suitable combination of subjects depending on his,her choice of the courses and subjects he,she has studied in 10+2; possible combinations are given in Appendix-I 
The medium of examination shall be English only
The candidates shall be required to answer questions on the OMR Answer-Sheet provided for the purpose only
The candidates shall be required to hand over their OMR answer-sheets and the question booklet to the Centre Superintendent even if they have not attempted any question
30 minutes extra should be given to the visually handicapped, physically handicapped candidates (as approved by the Vice-Chancellor)
The result of the PU-CET (UG & BHMS) 2016 will be made available on the website  as well as in the Enquiry office of the University
NRI Seats: $ 10,000 for full course of 5 years (the revision will be according to the notification issued by Chandigarh Administration from time to time)
General Seats + SC, BC, PH: Rs 80,000/- P.A. + Rs. 5000/- (Refundable) Security advanced (the revision will be according to the notification issued by Chandigarh Administration from time to time)
Panjab University Charges also payable on annual basis: As per Panjab University norms
How to Apply for PU CET 2016?
All the desirous candidates seeking admission for Course at Sr. 1, 2 above should follow the website for procedures and guidelines for admissions
No letter will be issued for the purpose
The information will be made available on website on or before the last date of declaration of result
Online registration link is available on website
General Category Rs.1760/- 
SC, ST Category Rs.880/- 
Admission Form for B.Pharm (credit based Semester System) and B.Sc (Hons. School) shall be available online on Panjab University website after declaration of result of PU - CET (U.G.) Entrance Test
Candidates desirous of seeking admission under the category of Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), NRI seats to B.Pharm (credit based Semester System) and B.Sc (Honours School) courses, who are present in India at the time of test, will compete amongst themselves by appearing in the PU - CET (U.G.) Entrance Test-2016
Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), NRI candidates, those living abroad at the time of entrance test will be exempted from the entrance test
To be submitted only by the PU - CET (UG)-2016 qualified candidates online latest by 02nd July 2016 upto 05.00 pm as per the guidelines displayed on the Panjab University website
Date of Advt. regarding test & other information relevant thereto: 18th March 2016
Date of Availability of PU-CET (UG & BHMS) Prospectus & Application Form on the website of PU: 18th March 2016
Last date for submission of information on the website to generate the Bank Challan: 28th April 2016
Last date for deposit of fee in any branch of State Bank of India using website generated challan: 30th April 2016 up to 04.00 pm
Last date for uploading of photograph, signature with rest of the information on the website: 02nd May 2016
No correction will be entertained , made regarding photograph, signature and any other information after: 05th May 2016, up to 05.00 pm
Date of Holding Entrance Test: 22nd May 2016 (Sunday)
