The
five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), the first of its kind in India
launched by IIM Indore, is a unique and creative programme to meet the
aspirations of young students to become management professionals, change agents
and societal leaders.
IPM is aimed at students who have passed out of class
XII/Higher Secondary or equivalent from various schools in India . It is
widely believed that our ability to influence younger students is greater.
Therefore, IIM Indore's objective is to attract young students, groom and mould
them as outstanding leaders through a world class education. IPM, therefore, is
a strategic fit in the overall context, vision and mission of IIM Indore.
The IPM, a residential programme, is a unique opportunity
for the Institute to make a contribution in this important social space. It is
also an exciting option for the young boys and girls to charter their
profession in the area of management with a wider scholarly academic background
in a social sciences setting.
Course Structure
The Programme would consist of 15 terms spread over a
period of 5 years with each year having 3 terms of 3 months each. The broad
design of the Programme would include education in Natural Sciences, Liberal
Arts, and Humanities and Social Sciences setting. Accordingly, 40% of the
Programme would focus on subjects related to the following areas:
Ø Mathematics, Statistics, Logic and
Computer Science
Ø Introduction to Literature:
Indo-Anglian, British and American
Ø Introduction to Philosophy,
Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Geology, and Geography
Ø Civilization and History (both India
and World)
Ø Exposure to Natural Sciences:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Botany
Ø Exposure to Languages: (at least
one foreign language and one Indian language)
Ø Exposure to Performing Arts and
Fine Arts
Soft skills: Leadership Development, Personality
Development, Team work and Communication
Second Module would consist of all functional areas of
management like Accounting, Finance, Organizational Behaviour, Decision
Sciences, Operations Management, Marketing, Economics, Information Technology,
Communication, Legal Aspects of Business, Ethics, Corporate Governance,
Corporate Social Responsibility, Business Strategy, International Business and
Entrepreneurship. This would account for the next 50% of the course design. In
this module, IPM students will do the PGP courses along with the 2 - year PGP
students of the institute.
The remaining 10% of the Programme would focus on
international exposure and internships in various social organizations in India .
Eligibility criteria for this programme requires a minimum
of 60% aggregate marks at Secondary/X Standard/Equivalent and at Higher
Secondary/XII/+2 level/Equivalent for General and NC-OBC category candidates
(55% aggregate marks at Secondary/X Standard/ Equivalent and at Higher
Secondary/XII/+2 level/Equivalent for SC, ST and PWD / DA candidates). All
candidates meeting the minimum eligibility mentioned above will be called for
the Aptitude Test.
The shortlist for Personal Interview would be based on the
candidate’s performance in the Aptitude Test and the final selection would be
based on their performance in Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Interview (PI).
Government of India
reservation norms would be followed while admitting the candidates. Further
details about the admission process may be obtained from Admission section of
the website.
During the tenure of the programme, candidates' academic
performance will be assessed on continuous basis and all those who meet the
minimum requirements of the programme will be promoted to the subsequent year
of the study. Those who do not meet the minimum requirements of the programme
on yearly/term-wise would be advised to leave or repeat the programme. Those
candidates who complete all the five years of the study and meet all the
academic requirements of the programme will be considered for being awarded
an Integrated
Diploma in Management (IDM). The programme requirements will be decided
by an academic council/committee of the Institute and the same will be shared
with the candidates upon their joining the programme.
The candidates will be selected on the basis of overall
performance in Aptitude Test and Personal Interview. Any candidate fail to
appear in either Aptitude Test or Personal Interview or both shall not be
considered further during the selection process. The selection process is as
follows:
Stage
1: The
candidates satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria should submit their
application online as described previously in Section 2 i.e. Application
procedure.
Stage
2: Based on
the applications received, candidates satisfying minimum eligibility criteria
will be called for the Aptitude Test (AT) to be conducted across 6 centers,
viz., Bengaluru, Kolkata, New Delhi , Mumbai,
Chennai/Hyderabad and Indore .
However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the centers at any time if the
situation so warrants. The date of conducting AT is Thursday, May 14, 2015. The
pattern of AT will be as follows:
Eligible candidates should submit their application online
during Monday, March 9, 2015 and Thursday, April 9, 2015 and pay online the
non-refundable/non-transferable application fee of Rs. 1000 (Rupees One
Thousand only) (Rs.500 for SC, ST and DA category). Candidates belonging to NC-OBC , SC ,
ST and PWD/DA categories need to produce valid and attested certificates in
support of their reservation category. No change in the category will be
entertained after submitting the application.
Ø AT will be of objective-type
nature. The sample questions from previous year question paper will be uploaded
on our website.
Ø There will be two sections in AT
namely Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability.
Ø There will be 100 questions in
total with time duration of two hours.
Ø Each question will carry 4 marks.
Ø There will be a negative marking
of 1 mark for each wrong answer
Stage
3: In this
stage, the eligible pool for Stage-4 (i.e. shortlisting of PI) is created
considering only the candidates having positive raw scores in both the sections
of Aptitude Test. Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who
are rejected at this stage.
Stage
4: Sufficient
number of candidates for Personal Interview (PI) for each category (General,
NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD/DA) will be shortlisted from the eligible pool (refer
Stage-3) using the merit list generated based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS) as
mentioned Table-1:

Note: Max. and Min. scores are the
highest and lowest scores obtained in respective sections by the candidates
from the eligible pool.
Shortlisted candidates shall appear for Personal Interview
at any of the six centers (as mentioned in Stage-2). Individual regret letters
will not be sent to applicants who are not shortlisted for Personal Interview
(PI). IIM Indore also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the
different parameters of Personal Interview (PI), which will be decided by
Admissions Committee. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of
PI parameters will not be considered for the next stage of selection process
i.e.
Stage
5: The
candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in earlier stages will only be
considered for the final selection. Category wise merit list will be generated
based on Composite Score (CS) as mentioned in Table 2 and provisional admission
offers will be made accordingly adhering to the reservation norms. Table-2:

No intimation will be sent to candidates who are not
selected for final offer.
Reservations
As per Government
of India reservation norms, 15% per cent and 7.5% of the total seats are
reserved for scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) candidates
respectively meeting IIMI's admission requirements; 27% seats are reserved for
non creamy layer - other backward classes (NC-OBC) candidates meeting IIMI's
admission requirements. In addition, 3% seats are reserved for persons with
disabilities (as per the provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995)
meeting IIMI's admission requirements. The three categories of disabilities
are: (a) low-vision/blindness, b) hearing impairment, and c) locomotor disability/cerebral
palsy. This provision is applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the
listed disabilities to the extent of not less than 40% as certified by medical
authority and as prescribed and explained in the said Act.
Tuition fees for the first 3 years would be about Rs.
3,00,000/- per annum and for the next two years it would be as per prevailing
PGP fees. Tuition fee does not include boarding and lodging charges.
Accommodation would be arranged on a sharing basis for the first 3 years.
Single room accommodation would be made available for the 4th and 5th year of
Programme.
Faculty are drawn from various sources which include
faculty members of IIM Indore, resource persons/visiting faculties from
renowned colleges/institutes, industry experts and retired faculty members from
Indian universities.
Apart from academic programmes, the IPM students are
exposed to various extra-curricular activities in order to inculcate in them
leadership qualities and managerial skills.
Note: A Study Centre as well as an
Examination Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been
opened at IIM Indore.
