The Union
Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the combined competitive Engineering
Services Examination from 28 June, 2013 for
recruitment of engineers to various categories of the Indian Engineering
Services.
763 vacancies (including 19 vacancies for
physically handicapped, PH, candidates) are expected to be filled on the basis
of the 2013 exam. The number of
vacancies is liable to change.
Interested candidates must be between 21 to 30 years of
age and should have an engineering degree. For details about the age criteria,
educational qualifications, nationality and physical standards of the
applicants, you can visit the Engineering Services Exam 2013 Eligibility
Criteria page.
Interested candidates have to apply online for the test.
Make sure you apply before 11:59 pm on 6 May, 2013 as the online link to apply
will be disabled after that.
Exam pattern
The Engineering
Services Examination has a written part and an interview/personality
test. The written examination has two sections: Section I (objective type
questions) and Section II (conventional papers). There will be negative marking
for wrong answers in the objective paper (Section I). The question papers are
set only in English and the conventional paper must be answered in English. The
objective paper (Section I) will be evaluated first, and those candidates that
qualify will have the conventional paper (Section II) evaluated. For details
