Post Graduate Programs Admissions 2015 (National Entrance Test TISSNET)
TISS Announces Admission to the 2015-17 batch of its Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate
Degree Programmes (M.A., M.Sc., MHA & MPH) offered from Mumbai,
Taljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad
campuses and other locations
TISS offers 49 master's degree programmes from its Mumbai,
Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad
campuses for the 2015-17 batch
Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes
across any of the two campuses indicating the order of preference
However, the can opt for only a maximum of three
programmes at TISS Mumbai
Eligibility
Eligibility
Candidates having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 3
years duration or its equivalent (
under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or
any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal
education) from a recognized university are eligible to apply
Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their
final year bachelor’s degree examinations by 10th June 2015 are also eligible to apply to all the programmes, except the
programmes offered by the School of Health Systems Studies; and for MA
in Education (Elementary) candidates, 12th May 2015 provided they have
successfully completed their first and second years, if the degree course is of
3 years; and the first, second and third years, if the degree course is of 4
years duration
In such cases, admission to any of the Master's Degree
Programmes of the Institute will be provisional
If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final
year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands
cancelled
Candidates applying for the Master
of Public Health Policy, Economics and Finance, and Master of Public
Health in Social Epidemiology programmes should have a master’s degree in any
discipline, or bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical and other four year
programme like pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering, etc
Candidates applying for the Master
of Health Administration and Hospital Administration should have
successfully completed their graduate degree in any discipline, or bachelor’s
degree in medicine, paramedical, and other four year programmes like pharmacy,
veterinary sciences, engineering, etc
Candidates who are in their final year bachelor’s degree
programme are not eligible to apply for admission to any of the master’s degree
programmes conducted by School
of Health Systems Studies
(Health Administration, Hospital Administration; Public Health in Social
Epidemiology; and Public Health in Health Policy, Economics and Finance)
Candidates applying for the M.A. /M.Sc in Urban Policy and
Governance programme should have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering,
Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law, or
Social Sciences, with interest habitat related issues/sectors
For
M.A. Disability Studies and Action programme, preference will be given to candidates who have
a graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Occupational
Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and disability rehabilitation related
fields
Graduates with at least 2 years experience in the field of
disability or social welfare will be preferred Only candidates with a master’s
degree and work experience will be considered for the one year, full time
master’s degree programmes in management of voluntary organisations and mental
health
Those who do not possess a master’s degree and a minimum 3
years experience need not apply
For
M.A. in Applied Psychology with Specialisations in Counselling Psychology and Clinical
Psychology, preference will be given to those candidates who have a graduate
degree/B.A. in Psychology; B.A. /B.Sc Home Science with specialisation in
Child/Human Development; B.A. Social Work, B.A. General-with minimum three
papers in Psychology
LL.M
in Access to Justice: LLB Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST//OBC (NC)/Children of
the Employees of Armed Forces/Persons with Disability)
The candidates appearing in final LLB Examination in April
/ May 2015 can also apply
National Entrance Test (TISS-NET 2015)
National
Entrance Test (TISS-NET) is computer based; it will be held on 10th January
2015 from 02.00 pm to 03.40 pm in 35 centres (below mentioned)
in different parts of the country

Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode) The online test is of objective type and even
those with a rudimentary knowledge of working with a computer can take the test
Duration of Test: 01 hour 40 minutes In case a candidate desires to do the test
on paper, he/she must this indicate this in the application form The objective
test will have questions related to social sensitivity, knowledge on
contemporary issues; analytical ability, and logical reasoning
The selection of candidates for different programmes
happens in two stages and has three components of assessment; all candidates
appear for the National
entrance test (TISSNET) Based on the performance in the TISSNET
examination, only short listed candidates are called for the Pre Interview Test
and Personal Interview (PIT/PI) i) National Common Written Test - 100 Marks;
ii) Pre-Interview Test / GD - 50 Marks; iii) Personal Interview - 75 Marks; Total - 225 Marks
The weightage for NET, PIT and PI is as follows for the
for the preparation of final merit lists for General as well as for Reserved
Category candidates CET - 50%; PIT/GD - 20%; PI - 30% The merit list will be
prepared on the basis of merit and the preferences indicated by the candidates
at the time of filling up the online application form (Kindly Indicate your
preferences carefully as it has implications for the merit list)
As per Govt. of India norms, Mumbai,
Tuljapur and Hyderabad Campuses provide 15%, 7.5% and 27% reservation
to SC/ST and OBC (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes In addition,
supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) 03%,
Kashmiri migrants 01% and children of the Armed Forces Employees 05% As per
agreement with Ministry of Development of North-East Region, Govt of India,
Guwahati Campus allots 66% of the seats to candidates from eight North Eastern
States The remaining 34% of the seats are for candidates from other parts of
the country For these seats (34%) same rules for reservation mentioned above
for SC/ST and OBC categories are applicable
Candidates are required to apply online through the
e-application only, available on the Institute’s
Candidates from remote places where no internet and
telecommunication facilities are available can get a printed copy of the
application form from the Institute
Candidates have to apply through the online application
form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form
After login candidates have to fill in their basic
details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply
for in the order of preference
Pay the application
fee (depending on number of programmes applied) either by depositing cash in
any branch of SBI or through Credit
card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking and Scan and upload photograph,
signature, marksheet of last exam passed and other necessary certificates
Candidates having lack of access to internet services
(remote area) can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form
They have to the application form and submit before last
date of submission Candidates can apply for multiple programmes and pay for all
the programmes in one online form and should not fill more than one online form
If a candidate is found to have filled more than one form,
all his/her applications will be cancelled.
Candidates can apply for a maximum of three programmes
across any two of the TISS Campuses and other locations
Candidates are requested to read through the eligibility
criteria mentioned here before filling up the form Unemployed SC /ST
candidates, whose parent’s/guardian’s annual income for the financial year
2013-14 is less than Rs.2.5 Lakh, and unemployed OBC(NC) whose
parent’s/guardian’s annual income for the financial year 2013-14 is less than
Rs 1 lakh, are required to pay Rs.250/-
as Application Fee for each selected programme
However they should upload the necessary certificates (Ref
Reservation Section on the admission website) Candidates have to upload/ attach
relevant certificates strictly in the format mentioned here. Please refer to
the section 'Certificates/ Documents' below
The application fees is Rs.1030/- (if being payed by Credit card/ Debit card/ Net Banking)
or Rs.1000/- plus bank charges (if
being pay through bank by cash) Please send request for printed form by Speed
