The Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test 2015

Applications are invited from the eligible interested Karnatka and non-Karnataka candidates for admission to 1st year ,1st semester full time, part time MBA, MCA,M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch courses and Admission to the Part Time M.Tech Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) in the institutions affiliated Universities which will be notified by Govenment of Karnataka for the year 2015-16.
Candidates have to appear for the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test 2015 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority to become eligible for admission to these courses as per the provisions of the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application lateral entry Courses Rules, 2005, Karnatka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Master of Engineering (ME) and Master of Technology (M.Tech) Courses, rules 2005
Non-Karnataka candidates are eligible to select only the seats surrendered by the Management if any for admission to MBA, MCA courses.
The candidates with valid GATE score should compulsorily enter, apply application online to become eligible for admission to M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch courses, but they need not appear for PGCET-2015
A candidate must have passed B.Tech, B.E or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates)
Candidates must have studied for a minimum seven years from Class I to the qualifying exam.
They must meet the domicile requirements as specified by the authorities
Note: Candidates with valid GATE scores need not appear for Karnataka PGCET 2015 and will be given preference over the others.
The total No of Questions is 75 as follows:
Part 1: 50 questions of 1 mark each
Part 2: 25 questions of 2 marks each
Total Marks= 100
The Duration of the exam is 120 minutes.
The Application Form is online. Candidates must fill all details –personal, academic qualifications and contact details.
They must upload the scanned copy of their recent photo and signatures as per specifications
They must pay the Application fees as specified below
They must enter the details of the Application Fees Payment before submitting the Application Form
Candidates have to complete their document verification tentatively in August, 2015 as per the given schedule.
They must attend the Counselling in person along with the requisite original documents as specified
There will be two rounds of Counselling for Karnataka PGCET 2015.
Students have to specify their choice through the PG option entry available in August, 2015
Karnataka PGCET 2015 Seat allotment will be done on the basis of the Karnataka PGCET 2015 Ranks and the options entered by the candidates.
How to Apply:
Step-I: Enter all the details ONLINE by browsing URL on website by selecting "PGET-2015". After completion of entry of all the details candidates will receive an application ID and Password to their registered email address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen
Step-II: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photo and Signature in JPEG format separately
Step-III: Take the printout of the Challan Copy, which is in Duplicate, Triplicate. Candidates have to pay an amount of Rs.650/- for General OBC (Rs.500/- for SC, ST Category-1 only for Karnataka candidates)
The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of State Bank of Mysore
Further, candidates residing in Karnatka can apply pay in E-payment Post offices. The Post Office will retain Post Office copy of the Challan and handover the Candidate cope of the Challan to the candidates
Step-IV: Download and take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper. Affix candidate's recent Passport size Photo, signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression on the space provided. Afterwards obtain Principle seal and signature from the college where you have studied final B.E, B.Tech or QE on the space provided in the printed form. The same copy should be produced during document verification along with the copy of the Challan.
Note: Candidates should note down their application ID and Password until the completion of filling of the online application.
Candidates have to enter all the required details in the form, failing which their application will not be considered. Applications without Photo and Signature will not be considered as valid. Candidates are not allowed to edit their application after taking the printout.
