Union Public Service Commission Combined
Medical Services Examination is conducted every year for the
recruitment of candidates, graduated in medical stream, into various Central
Governmental Organisations and Services. The notification for CMS exam will be
released in the month of March. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is
the governing body and is responsible for conducting the
examination. The exam of CMS is conducted for recruitment of candidates
in the following departments:
1. Asst Divisional Medical Officer
in the Railways.
2. Asst Divisional Medical Officer
in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service.
3. Jr Scale Posts in Central Health
Services.
4. Medical Officer in the MCD.
5. General Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal
Council.
1. Candidates who want to apply
for UPSC CMS 2014 Exam must fulfill all the eligibility criteria
needed by the candidates. All the criterion that must be
fulfilled are mentioned below:
2. Candidates from India , Nepal and Bhutan can
apply for UPSC CMS 2014 Exam.
3. Refugee from Tibet who came to India prior to 1st January,
1962 with the intention of permanent settling in India are also eligible
for UPSC CMS 2014 Exam.
4. The Indian origin candidates who
has migrated from countries like Pakistan, Sri lanka, Burma and East
African counties consisting of Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Ethiopia,
Vietnam, Zaire with the intention of permanently settling in India are
also eligible to apply and this condition is applicable for the candidates
of Bhutan and Nepal also.
5. The age limit for the
candidates applying for UPSC CMS 2014 Exam is 32 years.
Applicants should pay 200/- as application
fee in any branch of SBI either by person or through Net
Banking facility of State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of
Mysore/ State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore
using Visa Card/ Debit Card/ Master Card.
Candidates from SC/ ST/ PH categories
and female candidates are exempted from the payment of fees.
Candidates can only apply online through their
website. Detailed instructions related to applying instructions are given on
the site.
In accordance with the Examination Rules, the written
examination for Combined Medical Services Examination for two objective type
papers hitherto was being conducted through the OMR sheets. The Commission has
now decided that the written part of the ensuing combined Medical Services
Examination, 2014 to be held on the 22nd June, 2014 will now be conducted in
Computer Based mode. There will be no changes in the syllabus and the scheme of
this examination. The candidates appearing in the above examination are advised
to take note of the above change in the mode of written part of the above

The candidates admitted to the Computer Based CMSE, 2014
are to required, report at their respective centre venue at 08.00 A.M. for
forenoon session and at 01 RM. for afternoon session on the day of the
examination. The main entrance for the candidates will be closed at 09.00 A.M.
for forenoon session and at 02.00 P.M for afternoon session. For their own
convenience, the candidates are advised to visit their respective centre venue
one day before the day of examination and familiarize themselves with the
itinerary.
The e-Admit Cards of the candidates for the above
examinations are available " on the Commission's website). The candidates
are advised to download their e-Admit Cards and take a printout thereof. The,
admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Cards at
the allotted venue for appearing in the examination in case the photograph is
not visible or available on the e-Admit Cards, candidates are advised to carry
identical photographs (one photograph for each session) along with proof of
Identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or Driving
License and the printout of e-Admit Card at the venue of the examination. No
paper Admit Card will be issued for the examinations by the Commission.
The candidates are advised to take a printout of the
e-Admit Card well in advance to avoid last minute rush. In the past, cases
have been noticed where some candidates have faced difficulty in accessing the
server on the last day on account of server overload.
In case of any discrepancy in the e-admit card, the same
may be communicated to the Commission immediately by e-mail latest by 13th
June, 2014 to enable the Commission to take a decision in the matter.
