Applicants should have their Bachelors Degree with one of the subjects of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Statistics & Zoology.

Applicant’s age should be between 21 to 32 years as on 1st August 2014.
Age relaxation will be applicable as per the government rules.
General & other unreserved category applicants need to pay Rs 100/- as application fee.
SC/ST/PH/Female category applicants need not to pay any application fee.
Application fee should be paid in any SBI Bank branch by cash by using net banking of SBI/SBBJ/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.
Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of their performance in Preliminary Exam & Main Exam.
Candidates are required to apply online on website for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.
Candidates who wish to apply for Civil Services Examination also, (subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions) have to apply once by appropriately indicating in the on-line application form that they intend to appear for both the Indian Forest Service Examination and the Civil Services Examination.
Candidates, who will qualify for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, will have to fill in a detailed application form subsequently as per further instructions to be provided to the candidates through the website of the Commission
The applicants are advised to submit only single application, however, if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/ she must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc
All candidates, whether already in Govt Service, or in Govt owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment should submit their applications direct to the commission
Persons already in Govt service, whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under Public Enterprises are however, required to inform their Head of Office/Dept that they have applied for the examination
Candidates are not required to submit along with their applications any certificate in support of their claims regarding age, educational qualifications, SC/ST/OBC/PD etc which will be verified at the time of the main examination only
Admission Certificate: The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate about three weeks before the commencement of the examination
The e-Admission Certificate will be made available in the UPSC website for downloading by candidates
No Admission Certificate will be sent by post
If a candidate does not receive his/her e- Admission Certificate or any other communication regarding his/her candidature for the examination three weeks before the commencement of the examination, he/she should at once contact the commission
